DIY Christmas Paper Stars

Posted by Fanny Zedenius on

Hi everyone!

After I posted a video of me making these Scandinavian Christmas stars out of wallpaper I received some requests for the template I made to make them. So this is just a really quick blog post for those of you who wanted the template(s) and then I will probably come back and edit this post to make it more of a tutorial! :) I made a couple of templates (and will make more as I am still experimenting) and it really is easy to make them yourself as well. It just needs to be symmetrical. But you are of course welcome to use the ones I made! You can make them bigger (by printing on two A4 papers and taping them together, or printing on A3) - as you wish! You can also choose to use these templates to make six pointed stars, works just as well.

When you pick the paper to make your stars out of, be sure to use a thick paper or else it will be really difficult to get it into the right shape. Mine were made with wallpapers which are great for these types of projects, so if you have any scraps at home - you're all set!

Since I know the question will come up, the lamp I have inside the large star comes from Clas Ohlson. There are others out there though, including with cords.

Check back here later for a more thorough tutorial on how to make them and more templates!

Templates:

Paper star, larger

Smaller sized paper star

Extra pointy

Are you new here? My name is Fanny Zedenius and I run a fiber art business in Sweden called Createaholic. You can find my best selling book about macramé for beginners here as well as my two newer books, and you can check me out on Instagram here. On this website I sell all the supplies you need to get started on your fiber art journey - be it macramé, weaving, crocheting or something else! I also occasionally post new blog posts where I share some of the creative projects I work on.
I hope you'll like your stay here in my corner of the Internet!
Love, Fanny
